Infinity Renewable Energy

Infinity Renewable Energy, administered by Minnkota on behalf of its member cooperatives and the Northern Municipal Power Agency (NMPA) municipals, offers a unique program that empowers consumers to choose the proportion of their electricity that is sourced from renewable resources. Launched in 2002, the initiative supported the development of North Dakota's first two commercial-scale wind turbines, significantly contributing to the state's wind energy efforts. Participants in the Infinity program can select a specific amount or percentage of their electricity consumption to be renewable, purchasing this energy through renewable energy credits (RECs) connected to the Minnkota/NMPA transmission system. This program not only allows consumers to support renewable energy but also to designate the specific use of this energy, albeit at an additional cost.
