IV Sedation

Generally, sedation is a predictable part of routine dental care, especially for patients who fear visiting the dentist.

That fear and anxiety can be multiplied many times over when that treatment includes oral surgery, and general sedation techniques (such as nitrous oxide or oral sedation) may not be enough for the occasion.

Intravenous, or IV, sedation is a more powerful form of sedation that’s administered directly into the bloodstream through an intravenous drip.

The effects are deeper than general dental sedation and are more consistent throughout each procedure.

We only administer IV sedation in the presence of a trained anesthesiologist for optimal safety.
