The Emergency Department at ACMH is open and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with physicians and nurses experienced in providing high-quality emergency care to residents of Adair County and the surrounding area. Emergency department care ranges from walk-in urgent care to multi-system trauma to cardiac care and stabilization. Local physicians/providers contracted emergency physicians, and nurses are certified in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) and use state-of-the-art equipment to provide care. Providers are also certified in advanced trauma life support (ATLS) and nurses in trauma nursing core courses (TNCC). ACMH has the distinction of being a Level IV "Community Trauma Care Facility." This means our hospital has an organized trauma team in place, ready to respond 24/7 for the care and stabilization of time-critical injuries along with the coordination of air or ground transportation to a regional facility for continued medical care if needed.
