Mentor Program

Victim Assistance Volunteer mentors provide a one-on-one supportive relationship that will be maintained weekly for 6 months, to enhance continuity and stabilization for the child. Mentors are dedicated to assisting children who are healing from past trauma and provide support in the least intrusive, most comfortable manner possible. They work to increase self-esteem through positive interactions and establish empowerment, when appropriate, for the child.

All mentors are required to complete a state-required 40-hour training program, submit to a complete background check, and pass a screening interview with a therapist.
