New Jersey’s Community Colleges are dedicated to helping more adults earn degrees and credentials that lead to stable, family-supporting careers. Supporting adult learners is a key priority, as it helps expand enrollment, close achievement gaps, promote equity, and meet employer needs. As part of this effort, New Jersey is one of three states selected for the Improving Economic Mobility for Adult Learners Initiative, led by Achieving the Dream (ATD) and Jobs for the Future (JFF). Through coaching, peer learning, technical assistance, and funding, this initiative helps Community Colleges enhance policies and programs that support adults aged 21+ who have not yet completed a degree or certification—creating new opportunities for career growth and economic mobility.
