To become a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, you must be a U.S. citizen, at least 21 years old, and believe in God. Membership requires sponsorship by a current Elk, who will provide you with an application. Once completed, your application is submitted to the Lodge, read at a meeting, published in the newsletter, and reviewed by the Investigating Committee. The committee will then contact you to schedule an interview. After the interview, they will report their findings to the Lodge, and members will vote on your membership within 60 days. If approved, you will attend an Orientation to learn more about the Order’s programs and charities before your official initiation.
