A Storm Water BMP is a facility or structure that improves the quality and reduces the quantity of stormwater runoff before entering waterways. Storm Water collects pollutants (sediments, oil, grease, chemicals, nutrients) and increases in volume and rate as it flows over-developed areas. BMPs are designed to reduce pollutant levels while decreasing stormwater runoff velocity and quantity.
