Mechanical Construction

WG Construction built several critical path improvements to an access ramp from the Dulles Greenway to Dulles International Airport for the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority.  The North Area Roadway Improvements, North Section, Greenway Ramp E was completed in 2009.  WG Construction was responsible for three critical path work packages.  The first was to extend a triple 12’x8’ concrete box culvert; the second was to build a 430’ long pile foundation cast-in-place concrete retaining wall, and the third was to build a 430’ long mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) wall.  WG Construction worked through the winter in adverse weather conditions, with excess groundwater, and met a critical schedule.
